Cell phones and cancer – new evidence

Its starting to get out that cell phones are actually more hazardous to your health than previously publicized.  Dr. Devra Lee Davis gives a talk on April 4, 2012 before the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences that documents and describes how cell phones are dangerous to have any closer than 5/8 inch from your body, asnd how they are especially dangerous for young children.  I had no idea there were iphone apps for babies in their cribs....baaad idea.  Wow.

Here are Dr. Davis' qualifications:  B.S. in Physiological Psychology, Masters in Sociology, as well as a Masters in Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins U. School of Public health, and a PhD in Science Studies, U of Chicago, Danforth Foundation graduate fellow. She has authored over 190 publications, books and journals, which have appeared in such pubs as the Lancet, the Journal of the American Medical Association, Scientific American and the NY Times.  She was a finalist for a National Book Award for her book When Smoke Ran Like Water. In 2007 she founded the Envirnomental Health Trust, and continues to lead it, and she is a lecturer at Georgetown, Harvard, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, among others.  She was founding director of the Center for Environmental Oncology at the Univ. of Pittsburgy Cancer Center, and Professor of Epidemiology at their School of Public Health.   She wrote a book called The Secret History of the War on Cancer, which sounds worth a read so look for my review in a future blog. She was also founding member of the Board on Toxicology of the National Academy, and former senior advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Health.  This is pretty impressive, and I take what she has to say as very credible.
